Knowledge of the Dewey decimal system
Keyboarding

Responsibilities
Develop appropriate resources for the age, interest and needs of the students.
Select print and non-print resources.
Plans and implements a program of user guidance and a sequential program of library skills instruction in conjunction with teachers and administrators.
Organizes and manages the library media center in accordance with established written policies and procedures.
Promotes the effective use of the library media center.
Maintain and inventory library materials as required.
Locate and obtain books from other district libraries as needed.
Manage the library budget, process purchase orders and maintain library financial records.
Assist staff in finding and selecting appropriate materials to support the curriculum.
Provide reference assistance, book selection and reading guidance for students.
Oversee the internet library use.
Develop check out procedures for the circulation and loan of materials to ensure availability of resources for students, faculty and staff.
Develop and maintain library rules.
Plan and set goals and objectives for the future of the library.
Maintain the general appearance of the library with book displays, exhibits, bulletin boards, and seasonal decorations.
Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines and local, state and federal laws.
Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure
Support and comply with grant, program and/or funding source requirements
Complete and comply with all required trainings annually
Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8)
Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position
