About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Community Outreach Manager, the Library Associate - Outreach Lead coordinates services to homebound patrons, consults with Outreach staff on delivery questions, problem solves and organizes multiple projects. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 48 hours of college credit; 3 years of customer service experience required.
  • Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for college credit.
  • Must have an excellent driving record and a valid Class E Missouri driver’s license (Class E must be obtained within 1 month of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for new homebound patrons.
  • Coordination of deliveries.
  • The Outreach Lead is a consistent presence in the office and manages calls and emails from patrons who might have last minute requests or changes to their service.
  • Cultivate relationships and maintain contact information for personnel at facilities served by Outreach.
  • Deliver library materials to Outreach patrons and interview patrons to determine their reading interests; interview potential Outreach patrons to determine their eligibility for the service.
  • Carry through the functions related to borrowing, reserving and returning of library materials, including those patrons using the books by mail service.
  • Review billing report for Outreach patrons and confer with the manager about continuing services.
  • Select library materials and information resources matching the interests of individual Outreach patrons and Library Express collections as assigned.
  • Monitor Express collection materials supply, patron demand, and collection space needs.
  • Work with manager and other Outreach staff to develop and deliver programming.
  • May assist with Bookmobile and Public Services projects as assigned.
  • Review and respond to Outreach ILS reports.
