About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Community Outreach Manager, the Library Associate - Outreach Lead coordinates services to homebound patrons, consults with Outreach staff on delivery questions, problem solves and organizes multiple projects. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; 48 hours of college credit; 3 years of customer service experience required.
Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for college credit.
Must have an excellent driving record and a valid Class E Missouri driver’s license (Class E must be obtained within 1 month of hire).

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the main contact for new homebound patrons.
Coordination of deliveries.
The Outreach Lead is a consistent presence in the office and manages calls and emails from patrons who might have last minute requests or changes to their service.
Cultivate relationships and maintain contact information for personnel at facilities served by Outreach.
Deliver library materials to Outreach patrons and interview patrons to determine their reading interests; interview potential Outreach patrons to determine their eligibility for the service.
Carry through the functions related to borrowing, reserving and returning of library materials, including those patrons using the books by mail service.
Review billing report for Outreach patrons and confer with the manager about continuing services.
Select library materials and information resources matching the interests of individual Outreach patrons and Library Express collections as assigned.
Monitor Express collection materials supply, patron demand, and collection space needs.
Work with manager and other Outreach staff to develop and deliver programming.
May assist with Bookmobile and Public Services projects as assigned.
Review and respond to Outreach ILS reports.
