About The Position

Brunswick Library is looking for a friendly, energetic individual to join our Children's Department. Successful candidate will provide direct library services to children & families, supporting early literacy and the love of reading. Duties will include reference and reader's advisory, planning and presenting children’s events from birth to grade 5, and assisting in collection maintenance. Candidate will present weekly storytimes, support community partnerships, and provide outreach to local elementary schools, daycare centers, and preschools.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and one year experience working with children preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
ability to plan and present events
knowledge of children’s books
basic computer skills
ability to work both independently and as a team member
The candidate must be able to work with patrons and staff in a professional, courteous manner both in person and on the phone.
