About The Position

Centurion is the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Missouri Department of Corrections. They are currently seeking a Full-time Medication Aide Level 1 to join their team at Southeast Correctional Center located in Charleston, Missouri. The Medication Aide Level 1 (MO) works under the direction of the facility Director of Nursing / nursing designee.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must complete required continuing education to maintain certification (minimum of four (4) hours of medication administration training every two (2) years)
• Required training will be documented and maintained in Employee File
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation
• Must maintain active CPR/AED certification
• If not already Level 1 Medication Aide certified – applicant must successfully complete internal level one medication aide and insulin training to maintain employment beyond probationary period
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable

Nice To Haves

• Preferred to have current active Level 1 Medication Aide certification from the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) or the Department of Mental Health (DMH) which may also be referred to as DD Medication Aide (mo.tmutest.com)
• Insulin certification preferred
• One year experience in acute care, emergency or correctional setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as prescribed
• Documents the medication effectiveness and any noted adverse actions or side effects
