About The Position

The House Fiscal Advisory Staff is seeking a qualified individual to provide staff assistance to the Rhode Island House of Representatives and the House Finance Committee beginning in June 2026.

Requirements

• The qualified candidate should possess strong problem solving and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs as well as a working knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and state government and commitment to public service.
• Must have excellent oral communication skills, superior writing and editing skills, and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well on a team.
• The position requires availability for an unpredictable work schedule, particularly during the legislative session.
• Must be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines while remaining attentive to detail.
• Applicants must have a graduate degree, preferably in public administration, economics, political science, or business administration by May 31.
• Applications will be accepted through April 20, 2026, and must include a letter of interest and resume.
