About The Position

This position directly supports the Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Department of War (DoW) Test Resource Management Center (TRMC). Preparing for, capturing notes and due outs, and maintaining a system for tracking congressional engagements Maintaining awareness of congressional interest areas, geographic location of test range assets mapped to state and congressional district, and stakeholder interests Maintaining awareness of developments in defense and political news that could have an impact on DoW budget or operations Assisting in the development of reports and briefs for senior leaders (to include gaining knowledge of the DoW style guide and preparing action memos, congressional correspondence, and coordination sheets) #LI-HK1

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a Legislative Liaison at DoW or other Federal Department, in a Congressional office, or in a Congressional Affairs role
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organization skills
  • Ability to track progress of many simultaneous projects
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment
  • Current active DoW Secret Clearance or ability to re-activate

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in using Microsoft 365 tools accessed through the Microsoft Teams interface, including Microsoft Planner
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology skills to improve system for tracking congressional engagements
  • Ability to network and form relationships across the DoW to be effective in role

Responsibilities
