JOB SUMMARY: This position serves as the Legislation Specialist and reports to the Legislative and Cabinet Services Director. The position is in the Select Exempt Service pay plan. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • At least two years of professional administrative support experience in an office setting.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the State of Florida’s legislative process.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the development and coordination of the Department's legislative programs.
  • Performing a variety of independent, complex administrative tasks.
  • Coordinating, tracking, and sending assignments and maintaining bill files between the Department’s operating programs inside the legislative bill tracking system.
  • Conducting constituent correspondence with elected officials and their staff, as well as members of the public.
