About The Position

The Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking applicants for a full time Legal Secretary position with primary Receptionist responsibilities. The successful applicant will serve as the initial point of contact for the State’s Attorney’s Office, answering and screening incoming calls, greeting visitors, and performing a variety of administrative and secretarial duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent computer, organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word products
  • A professional phone manner
  • A willingness to learn
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Prior office experience with secretarial training
  • Prior legal, social service or criminal justice experience
  • Associates degree or higher or specific courses in secretarial skills, criminal justice or social work

Responsibilities

  • Answering and screening incoming calls
