Job Description: Job Duck is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Case Support Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced civil litigation environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring legal operations run smoothly by managing documents, coordinating schedules, and supporting case preparation from start to finish. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and confident in taking ownership of tasks while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This position is well-suited for someone who views their role as a true partner to the legal team and is eager to grow within the legal field. Daily work will have a direct impact on meeting deadlines, supporting case strategy, and delivering a high-quality client experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a legal assistant, or in a legal support role and/or related Bachelor's degree in legal studies
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in document handling
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Integrity with a strong sense of confidentiality and discretion
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new legal software
  • Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Collaborative team player who communicates confidently and respectfully
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate needs
  • Time Zone: Pacific Standard Time
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM PST
  • Location: Remote
  • Industry Experience: Legal services with civil litigation exposure preferred
  • Software and Tools:
  • Clio for case management, CRM, email, and calendar
  • RingCentral for VoIP communications
  • Slack for internal communication
  • Court filing systems for document submission
  • Technical Environment:
  • Mac-based systems used by the legal team

Responsibilities

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Coordinate internal communication using Slack and email
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in Clio
  • Assist with research and case preparation as needed
  • Review, organize, and file legal documents in court systems
  • Prepare initial drafts of discovery requests and client communications
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with daily administrative and legal tasks
  • Perform date calculations to ensure all legal deadlines are met
  • Schedule appointments, hearings, and internal deadlines
