About The Position

Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant. The primary responsibilities of this role include: Garfinkel Immigration is one of the largest business immigration practice groups in the Carolinas. Business Immigration Law is a specialized area of law related to assisting employers with global visa solutions, offering immigration strategy for foreign-owned companies and assisting clients with workforce compliance issues. We represent foreign companies, Fortune 500 U.S. companies and small businesses in a diverse array of industries. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years' administrative experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook e-mail and calendar features, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with office equipment, including multi-function copier/printers/scanners, fax machines, postage machines, laser/color/label printers.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Well-organized and have ability to meet established deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish proficiency or fluency strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble documents for filing, ensuring that all procedural requirements for filing cases are met.
  • Provide legal and administrative support to the Business Manager, attorneys, and legal teams.
  • Provide broad office support, including mail processing, document preparation/assembly, and data entry.
  • Update and communicate changes through case management system.
  • Greet and interact with visitors to the office, and communicate with clients or vendors via phone or email.
  • Coordinate facilities support services, including telephone, maintenance, security, and equipment support, as needed. Operate/troubleshoot office equipment, including multi-function copier/printers/scanners, fax machines, postage machines, and laser, color, and label printers.
  • Stock office supply items when necessary.
  • Perform in-office catering set-up and tear down, and ensure break room is stocked and tidy.
