Position Title: Academic Year Lecturer College: Humanities and Fine Arts Department/School: English The English Department in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers. Availability of positions in composition, literature, linguistics and creative writing will be determined by need during the 2025-26 academic year. We are primarily looking for instructors to teach in person. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Requirements
- The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment in linguistics is a PhD.
- For literature, composition, and creative writing, an MA in English or closely-related field is the minimum education requirement.
Responsibilities
- Lecturers will teach one or more sections of courses for which the Department Chair deems them qualified.
- Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
