About The Position

The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Natural Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2025-26 academic year. Areas of need include cellular and molecular biology; ecology evolution and organismal biology; and microbiology. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

Requirements

• The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or recognized equivalent in Biology or a related field for lower division laboratories, activities, and discussions. These are courses for which the curricula are already well defined.
• The individual must demonstrate currency through professional activity appropriate to the instructional assignment.
• A Master’s degree or Doctorate or Recognized Equivalent in Biology or a related field is required for all other courses, and the individual must demonstrate currency through professional activity appropriate to the instructional assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the area of teaching lower and upper level undergraduate courses.
• Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
