About The Position

The Department of Physical Sciences at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a full-time lecturer position starting August 1, 2026. The teaching load is equivalent to 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework each semester (fall and spring). The successful candidate will be expected to teach freshman and sophomore level lectures and laboratories in astronomy, geology, and physics with the opportunity to teach advanced classes in the candidate’s area of expertise occasionally. Some courses taught may be offered evenings, off-site, and/or online. Summer teaching is voluntary and compensated separately. Lecturers are expected to participate in service activities to the department, school, campus, or community, such as regularly attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on relevant committees. This position does not carry any expectations for a research program or publications.

Responsibilities
