About The Position

The Department of Biology at Utah State University ( https://artsci.usu.edu/biology/ ) is hiring a Lecturer (not tenure eligible) with a specialization on the teaching of human anatomy and physiology at the Uintah Basin campus in Vernal, Utah. The role for the position would be 90% teaching and 10% service. This is a fiscal year (12 month) appointment. The start date for the position will be 1- Aug., 2026.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Biology or related field.
  • At least 5 years of university-level teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • teaching Human Anatomy (BIOL2320, lectures and labs) and Human Physiology (BIOL2420, lectures and labs)
  • developing curriculum aligned with Biology Department standards
  • preparing lectures and discussions
  • designing and overseeing associated lab sections
  • developing student outcomes and assessments
  • developing and correcting exams
  • communicating with and responding to student inquiries
  • ensuring lecture and lab coordination
  • service to the university, professional, and broader community
