About The Position

Full-Time Assistant Lecturer position in the LeaRN Program, working with first-year and underprepared student populations.

Requirements

  • Completed a Masters degree
  • At least two years of experience teaching college students in first-year or lower-division courses
  • Experience teaching First-Year Composition (FYC)
  • Evidence of highly effective teaching among varied student populations

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in first-year learning communities
  • At least four years of university-level teaching experience
  • Experience with Writing Center consulting at the college level
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant fields (e.g. conference presentations, workshops)

Responsibilities

  • instructor of LeaRN courses (4 courses per year)
  • workshop coordinator for the Writing Center (equivalent to 3 courses per year)
  • teaching commitment may include First-Year Composition, Human Culture, academic success, and First-Year Experience courses
  • planning, delivering, and evaluating targeted workshops for students and instructors across campus
  • supporting Writing Center tutors as they prepare workshops
  • contributing to Communication Across the Curriculum (CxC) faculty programming
  • program assessment
  • faculty mentorship
  • curriculum development
