Job Summary: The Leave of Absence Manager will oversee the administration and management of all employee leave programs including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, military leave, and state leave programs. The successful candidate will facilitate administration between benefit vendors, employees, human resources and legal while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of leave administration including supervisory experience.
  • In depth knowledge of federal, state and local leave laws and compliance requirements including HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and USERRA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or a related field
  • Expert knowledge of leave plan administration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to perform in a supervisory capacity
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and staff

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, guidance and direction regarding leave of absence implementation, and administration.
  • Oversees the day to day operations of the leave specialists to ensure a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Manages complete life cycle of leave process including intake, eligibility, documentation, tracking and return to work coordination.
  • Partners with legal and employee relations teams to mitigate risk and respond to audits and inquiries.
  • Provides empathetic guidance to employees navigating complex leave situations.
  • Delivers leave of absence training and resources to managers, employees and Human Resources Business Partners
  • Analyzes leave trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Supports integration of leave programs for acquisitions companies
  • Remains current on federal, state and local legislation relating to leave and implements appropriate updates
