About The Position

Primary point of contact for general staff inquiries related to Workers Compensation, ergonomic evaluations, leaves of absence, and medical accommodations. Maintains quality service standards set by the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field, a certificate in Human Resources Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • One year of experience working in a Human Resources Department.
  • One year general leaves administration experience or equivalent HR experience in a financial institution, to include medium to high volume transactions.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Effective human relations and communications skills for dealing with all levels of employees, in a variety of complex situations.
  • Demonstrated internal service skills, including patience, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Functional competency with basic HR body of knowledge.
  • Intermediate level PC and MS Office competency to include Excel and Word.
  • Professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective project, organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as first point of contact for general employee inquiries and requests related to leaves of absence and accommodations.
  • Coordinates paperwork for all requested leaves and workplace accommodations including: educating employees on applicable options, providing the employee with the required forms, maintaining contact with employee to ensure documentation is received, analyze submitted documentation and route to Leaves & Benefits Supervisor for approval.
  • Provide ongoing to support for your leave and accommodation cases. Respond timely to all requests and ensure that each case is properly documented as required.
  • Ensure all approved accommodations are implemented immediately and that any workplace equipment items are delivered timely. Ensure that all requests are handled consistently per credit union policies and applicable laws.
  • Provide required notifications and maintain accurate recordkeeping of all leaves of absences.
  • Make offers of Workers’ Compensation when a work injury occurs. Open claims directly with the carrier as required.
  • Responds to routine HR-related questions related to policy interpretation and application; responds to employee concerns and provide information and policy guidance to supervisor and/or employee. Escalate issues to manager as appropriate.
  • Assists in answering phones, screening or appropriately directing calls and messages.
  • Back up to Employee Relations Coordinator and HR Generalist (Leaves & Benefits)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
