About The Position

The Leasing Agent is responsible for renting apartments, maintaining the grounds, assisting the property manager with tasks, and overseeing the overall community to ensure efficiency. This position, with the assistance of the property staff, helps keep the apartment community's occupancy rate at or about 97%. The agent is expected to treat every prospective resident and every current resident as an honored guest, deal with resident requests and complaints promptly, schedule work with maintenance, and follow through to see that the work has been accomplished.

Requirements

  • Service/Hospitality sales experience or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of property leasing processes and tenant management (Property Management)
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal housing and landlord-tenant laws (Fair Housing)
  • Knowledge of effective sales techniques and customer service practices (Sales)
  • Proficiency with property management software and CRM tools (Software)
  • Understanding of financial objectives related to property operations (Financial/Budget)
  • Adept at building positive relationships with prospective and current residents through courteous communication (Customer Service)
  • Strong ability to showcase property features and successfully close lease agreements (Sales and Negotiation)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for handling inquiries and resolving resident issues (Communication)
  • Capable of addressing and resolving resident concerns patiently and efficiently (Problem-Solving)
  • Strong ability to schedule appointments, maintain records, and manage multiple tasks (Organizational Skills)
  • Ability to effectively promote property amenities to prospective residents (Marketing)
  • Skilled in property management software, email communication, and office applications (Computer Literacy)
  • Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with residents, prospects, and staff (Interpersonal Abilities)
  • Ability to handle a dynamic work environment and manage resident service issues calmly (Adaptability)
  • Ensure properties meet appearance standards and documentation is accurate (Detail Orientation)
  • Schedule and conduct tours efficiently while managing administrative responsibilities (Time Management)
  • Ability to follow housing and employment regulations (Compliance Awareness)

Nice To Haves

  • Leasing/Residential Sales specific experience
  • Associate’s degree in business management of similar fields of study
