About The Position

Every day, journalists at The New York Times report more than 200 stories from dozens of countries around the world on topics ranging from major international events to the best way to roast a chicken. Those stories are read, listened to and watched by millions of users across our web and mobile products. Learning & Career Enablement helps employees build the skills, knowledge and experiences they need to grow in their careers and do their best work. We design and deliver programs that strengthen leadership capabilities, support professional development and foster a culture of continuous learning across the organization. The Learning & Career Enablement Intern will work alongside a team that develops training, onboarding experiences and career programs for employees across the company. You will gain exposure to how development programs come to life in a large, mission-driven organization and play a meaningful role in supporting initiatives that help individuals and teams thrive. You will report to the Head of Learning & Career Enablement.

Requirements

  • You are a self-starter who enjoys learning, taking initiative and solving problems
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working with data and curious about how insights inform decisions
  • Interest in how organizations support employee learning and career development
  • A clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with others

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience (professional, academic or volunteer) supporting events, training, HR or program coordination

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of learning and career development programs that help employees grow in their roles and careers.
  • Support the company-wide onboarding experience by helping to welcome new employees and introduce them to our culture, mission and ways of working at The Times.
  • Collect and analyze feedback data to help us understand what's resonating, where employees need more support and where we can improve.
  • Explore, test and propose AI and workflow tools that can make our processes more efficient and help teams work smarter.
  • Help maintain and organize learning resources, guides and communication materials so that development opportunities are easy to find and use.
  • Collaborate with teammates across Learning & Career Enablement and HR to support initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning, growth and connection.
  • Demonstrates support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
