About The Position

The Informatics Learning & Engagement Manager is primarily responsible for managing, planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the assigned portfolio focused on a customer-centric program. The manager will help drive processes, workflows, systems and tools to meet the needs of the customer. The position requires a leader with sound knowledge of healthcare, business management and a working knowledge of information systems, practices and technologies. This position will proactively work with other DTS teams and users to implement practices which meet defined policies and standards for the assigned portfolio. The manager is a customer experience leader and must be highly knowledgeable about the needs of the business and the voice of the caregiver in clinical roles to ensure that information systems are maintained in a fully functional, reliable and sustainable mode. The manager will be responsible for building trusted relationships in the assigned portfolio, with operational leaders, to ensure work aligns with the business needs and strategic initiatives. This position is accountable to successfully engage caregivers within the position portfolio in implementation, and adoption of Health Information Technology (HIT). This position will report to the Informatics Learning and Engagement Director and will be accountable for Learning and Engagement teams, responsible for the implementation, adoption and use of HIT-technologies. The position oversees human resource management as related to learning and engagement in the hospitals, clinics and non-clinical areas, builds strong strategic relationships with stakeholders in the hospitals, clinics areas. The day-to-day work is operational and hands-on in nature. This position provides oversight of the assigned portfolio to ensure caregiver needs, requests, tickets and issues are being addressed and leads or co-leads implementation, adoption and mastery of health information technology.

  • Demonstrated ability of building strategic relationships and ability to communicate effectively to clinical and business stakeholders, make effective decisions, think strategically and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong teams to complete complex projects and to lead caregivers and teams outside of span of control.
  • Demonstrated expertise and working knowledge of EHR training, mastery, adoption, and support.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare electronic health record experience
  • Degree in Nursing, Medical, Clinical Informatics or other relevant degree
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail and scheduling applications
  • Experience working with Health IT-related project acquisition, implementation and associated project management.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary contact to facility leadership and is responsible for building trusted relationships with the leaders and caregivers in all assigned areas.
  • Provides input and direction on EHR related projects with a specific focus on communication, adoption, and clinical end-user support.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts related to workflow mastery and support.
  • Manages clinical relationships and effectively collaborates within areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborates with other DTS teams in the development, coordination, and implementation of EHR related projects
  • Regularly communicates with caregivers through huddles, team meetings, individual one on one meetings, rounding and skip level interviews as appropriate, and manages resource allocation to projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and according to requirements.
  • Help manage and respond to EHR related issues and proactively problem-solve and escalate as appropriate.
  • Attending, when necessary, clinical, and business leader meetings to build relationships and to provide extraordinary customer experience.
  • Identify barriers and communicate appropriately with recommended suggestions and solutions to partners and other DTS teams.
  • Actively participate and innovate in mastery efforts.
  • Coordinate, oversee and support go-live efforts, downtimes (planned / unplanned), and other initiatives.
