Support the implementation of a flow line for steam turbine diaphragm repairs. The project will involve changes to physical layouts and work practices. Cross functional engagement will be required to define a holistic solution. Project Outcomes: Waste elimination from the diaphragm value stream resulting in shorter lead times. Standard work for the new process to ensure sustainability. Primary Skills Developed: Project management, Lean tools and techniques, Steam turbine technology, Problem solving/critical thinking.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Engineering major (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Materials).
  • Minimum 4.0 out of 5.0 GPA.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous lean knowledge/experience.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Familiarity with welding and machining.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Action oriented.
