About The Position

The Leadership Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing leadership development programs across the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation System. This role blends strategic program design with hands‑on facilitation and operational coordination. The Specialist partners closely with executives and department leaders to identify leadership capability gaps, build development pathways, and support a strong pipeline of future leaders. This position ensures effective execution of leadership initiatives, onboarding experiences, and system‑wide learning programs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School degree or a GED.
  • 3–5 years of experience in leadership development, organizational development, training, or related fields.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and curriculum design skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence leaders at all levels.
  • Experience managing multiple programs and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with leadership assessments, learning systems, and program administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute leadership development strategies aligned to organizational goals.
  • Design and deliver learning programs for emerging leaders, managers, directors, and executives.
  • Create and facilitate workshops, cohort‑based programs, coaching sessions, and leadership assessments.
  • Assess leadership competencies and create individualized development plans (IDPs).
  • Develop training materials, resources, and curriculum that support leadership growth.
  • Lead key Mary Free Bed leadership programs, including but not limited to: Leadership Development Institutes Mentorship Program New Leader Journey Journal Club
  • Provide education and learning experiences that support Mary Free Bed’s Climb to Excellence culture.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding for newly hired or promoted leaders.
  • Introduce leaders to organizational culture, expectations, and available leadership resources.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to tailor onboarding plans that accelerate leadership readiness and integration.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and provide support throughout the transition.
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, communication, and rosters for leadership development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation, assessment results, and program outcomes.
  • Support administration of leadership assessments and coaching engagements.
  • Measure and report on program effectiveness, including participation metrics, outcomes, and business impact.
  • Partner with HR, Education, and Executive Leadership on talent management, succession planning, and development priorities.
  • Consult with leaders to identify leadership capability gaps and recommend learning solutions.
  • Stay current on leadership development trends, practices, and tools, and share insights that support continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members.
  • This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.
  • Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions.
  • Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
