The Leader, North American Operations will be responsible for the operations of the Station including meeting station operating objectives to support the company goals. The Leader, North American Operations will assist the Station Leader with recruiting, motivating, and training of all employees within the station location. The Leader, North American Domestic Operations will be responsible for the fiscal and operational oversight, leadership and direction of the station, ensuring station goals and objectives are met. Requirements

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Logistics (or equivalent) and 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or other transportation business or activity with a clear understanding of multiple modes and services within the transportation/logistics industry.
  • 1-3 years of managerial experience in a customer-centric freight forwarding environment. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and communicating station operational KPIs and metrics.
  • Review, revise and collaborate with corporate pricing on all customer tariffs. Monitor and review quote requests to ensure maximum profitability for the station while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Review, revise, and approve all customer operational SOP’s with the objective of improving quality and efficiencies.
  • Conduct customer profitability reviews on a regular basis.
  • Service all existing customers, while marketing full range of transportation services to new customers. Meet company service metric expectations.
  • Provide operational support to empower sales team to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • With corporate support, actively develop local vendor relationships resulting in station, regional and companywide yield improvement while maintaining EFW service standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and posting of all transactions on a daily basis.
  • May assist in moving freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment once authorized when requested for business needs.
  • Maintains good communication and positive relationships with employees to promote employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules and adjusts accordingly to ensure adequate staffing that supports operational demands and business objectives.
  • Responsible for recruitment, retention, and development of operational staff.
  • Ensure safety methods and programs are implemented and maintained.
  • Compliance with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
