The Lead Youth Tracker will act as back up for the Program Director, providing supervision to the program and sharing in on-call responsibilities as needed. This role requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Lead Youth Tracker is responsible for completing assigned tracks daily, assisting with staff supervision to ensure daily contacts are made, monitoring staff training, and providing on-the-job training for new staff. Key duties include maintaining communication with the Program Director and Youth Trackers, conducting daily face-to-face contacts with assigned youth at various locations, and assisting with GPS unit inventory. Data entry into the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Juvenile Tracking System (JTS) and Southwest Key Programs database (Efforts to Outcome - ETO) is also required. The position involves maintaining facility cleanliness, security, and safety, developing helping relationships to motivate youth accountability, and reviewing case files. Accurate and timely completion of required documentation, including discharge information, is essential. The Lead Youth Tracker must immediately notify the Program Director of any youth crisis, suspected illegal activity, or other incidents. Additional functions include providing youth advocacy in health, education, vocation, legal, and family areas, crisis intervention, administering first aid, and assisting in coordinating and participating in youth activities and groups.
