The Lead Youth Tracker will serve as a backup for the Program Director, providing program supervision and sharing on-call responsibilities as needed. This role requires a flexible work schedule, which may include hours outside of the regular schedule, as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Lead Youth Tracker is also responsible for completing daily assigned tracks. Key functions include assisting with staff supervision to ensure daily youth contacts, monitoring staff training, and providing on-the-job training for new hires. The position involves maintaining communication with the Program Director and Youth Trackers, conducting daily face-to-face contacts with assigned youth at various locations, and assisting with GPS unit inventory. Data entry into the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Juvenile Tracking System (JTS) and Southwest Key Programs database (ETO) is required. The Lead Youth Tracker must also ensure the cleanliness, security, and safety of the facility, develop helping relationships to foster youth accountability, and stay updated on youth case files. Timely and accurate completion of documentation, including discharge information, is essential. Immediate notification to the Program Director is required for youth crises, suspected illegal activity, or any other youth/program incidents. Regular and punctual attendance is mandatory. Additional duties include providing youth advocacy in health, education, vocation, legal, and family matters, offering crisis intervention, administering first aid when necessary, and assisting in coordinating and participating in youth activities and groups.
