Lead Veterinary Technician (full-time)
About The Position
The Village Vet is looking for a compassionate, Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team, help support our clients, and make a difference within veterinary medicine through empathy, and teamwork. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about veterinary medicine and excited to grow into a leadership position that blends both Lead Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Office Manager responsibilities. This individual enjoys working hands-on with patients while also taking ownership of daily operations, team leadership, and practice efficiency. They are organized, proactive, and motivated to help both the medical team and the business thrive.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician is required.
- Strong diagnostic, technical, and communication abilities.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Administration experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Oversee daily clinic operations to ensure efficient workflow and excellent client service
- Providing compassionate care and handling for patients of all sizes and temperaments.
- Supervise, train, and support administrative and technical staff
- Preparing and maintaining exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment.
- Performing diagnostic tests, such as lab work and radiography, under supervision.
- Educating clients on basic pet care and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring a clean and organized clinic environment.
