About The Position

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Lead Veterinary Technician for their competitive paying, non-profit veterinary clinic. This role involves working 4 10-hour shifts within the Community Medicine Hospital team, with the primary goal of shaping the future of compassionate veterinary care. The Lead Veterinary Technician will guide and mentor their team, ensuring exceptional care for all patients and clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required
• Four years of experience working as a veterinary technician at a general practice/full-service clinic required
• One year of leadership experience required
• Able to speak, read and write English
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
• Proficiency with Daysmart preferred, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary
• Regular attendance and punctuality required
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening to be compliant with DEA requirements for dispensing controlled drugs

Nice To Haves

• Spanish language helpful
• Proficiency with Daysmart preferred

Responsibilities

• Set the tone on the clinic floor by guiding and mentoring your team
• Ensure every patient and client receives exceptional care
• Support veterinarians in exams, surgeries, and diagnostics
• Oversee patient flow to keep appointments and procedures running smoothly
• Perform a wide range of technical skills from anesthesia monitoring to lab work
• Play a key role in client communication, helping pet owners understand treatment plans and home care
• Maintain accurate records and well-organized inventory
• Lead by example, strengthen your team, and make a meaningful impact in your community
