About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage / Fiber Technician in Bridgeport, AL. This position will take ownership of guiding a growing team onsite. The role is hands-on and ideally suited for someone with both strong field expertise and leadership capabilities. Approximately 80% of the responsibilities will be hands-on fiber and cabling work alongside technicians, while 20% will involve administrative, customer-facing, and project coordination duties.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and installation abilities
  • Cat5/Cat6 and general cabling experience
  • Fiber installation experience (pulling, dressing, managing fiber routes)
  • Leadership or site management experience
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and spreadsheets
  • Ability to support and guide technicians in the field
  • Previous low-voltage experience is required.
  • Experience leading technicians or managing job scopes.
  • Ability to handle both field and administrative responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • A confident leader who can manage people and workflow while still performing hands-on work.
  • Someone who takes initiative, solves problems quickly, and communicates effectively.
  • A technician with solid fiber and cabling experience who is ready to step into a lead role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations and work alongside technicians on data center fiber installation.
  • Pull, route, and dress fiber cabling into the building and throughout designated pathways.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and support Cat6 and low-voltage cabling systems.
  • Manage site manpower, assign tasks, and ensure daily workflow efficiency.
  • Perform administrative work including customer communication, data entry, reporting, and spreadsheet updates.
  • Track materials, maintain inventory accuracy, and support the Superintendent with operational needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and professional site representation.
