Requirements

  • Technical degree.
  • Technical understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical components.

  • Knowledge of AS400.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use active listening.
  • Ability to think process oriented and apply the MPTSH standard structured problem-solving process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all safety and quality start-up procedures are followed.
  • Authorized to stop the process if it does not meet safety and/or quality requirements and notify Leader, Supervisor or Quality personal immediately.
  • Follow Leader / Supervisor instructions after the leader / supervisor reviewed the situation.
  • Responsible to follow SWI (Standard Work Instructions).
  • Following all required inspection requirements at the specified frequencies.
  • Understand the use of gages and measurement equipment following provided training.
  • Responsible to know CIC’s (Customer Interface Characteristics).
  • Responsible to understand JES’s (Job Element Sheets).
  • Responsible to produce quality parts following SWI, JES and provided training.
  • Responsible to inform the Leader / Supervisor of any Quality, Environmental, Ergonomic, Safety or Production concerns.
  • Responsible for machine changeovers.
  • Follow all applicable processes including but not limited to control of nonconforming outputs, labeling, and production reporting.
  • Inform the Leader / Supervisor of any concerns affecting the number of parts produced per hour.
  • Responsible to accurately report non-conforming product.
  • Responsible to maintain and improve the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Responsible to understand and follow 5S.
  • Responsible to understand and able to problem solve following MPTSH standard problem-solving process.
  • Responsible to maintain professional and cooperative communication with all other employees.
  • Treat co-workers with dignity and respect and in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Common Values.
  • Responsible to speak up if any concerns arise about performing an assignment safely and correctly producing products without defects.
  • Participate in cross functional team meetings to review problems and develop solutions.
  • Train new employees as needed on aspects of job including visual inspection, gauging and packing of product.
  • Attend and participate in team and employee meetings.
  • Responsible to report to another job or task including cleaning work area as directed by the Supervisor/Leader if assigned job is down.
  • Participate in EOS Focus Groups.
  • Report any injuries, accidents, equipment malfunctions, miss hits, property damage etc. to Supervisor\Leader.
  • Support and participate in division and department improvement initiatives through Continuous Improvement Suggestion Program, and sharing of knowledge, ideas, and/or best practices with co-workers.
  • Responsible to provide ideas to reduce the time needed for changeovers, start up, error proofing verification, cyclic work, periodic work, first offs, safety checks and other negative impacts to Operational Availability.
  • Responsible to develop ideas to reduce quality concerns or probability of the occurrence of quality issues.
  • Maintain detailed problem follow-up sheets listing all production interruptions per Mafact Requirement.
  • Maintains detailed hour by hour production report documenting all downtime and quality incidence.
  • Lead daily performance review meetings to communicate observed issues and feedback from support teams to already capture problems.
  • Maintain Mafact Board.
  • Lead operation in assigned work cell.
  • Lead the changeover process per documented process and improve that process.
  • Lead and mentor other operators in the work cell so they are able to operate independently.
  • Develop ideas to improve the cleanliness and organization of the work cell.
  • Support the implementation of Autonomous maintenance activities.
  • Perform minor regular maintenance work as documented on the TPM plan.
  • Able to operate the machine efficiently and able to clear minor stoppage conditions quickly.
  • Participate in trouble shooting activities to better understand the equipment, tooling, processes and parts.
  • Lead the shift to shift hand over meeting between 1st and 2nd shift.
  • Works with engineering, maintenance and suppliers to functions and controls.
  • Understand the process and equipment FMEA and give feedback for improvements.
  • Able to comprehend information provided in regard to machine programming.
  • Able to read electrical schematics.
  • Able to ready machine prints.
  • Responsible to improve the communication between machine and operators to reduce the MTTR.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including IATF 2016:16949, ISO14001 (EMS), Mafact and Employee Handbook.
  • Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment) and Lockout.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Leader.
  • Complies with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with MPT’s Environmental Management System (EMS).
