About The Position

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Filler Operator to be responsible for operating, setting up, and troubleshooting production equipment in accordance with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards (Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point, Griffith Production System). Custom Culinary is a provider of branded and customer brand / “private label” soup bases, flavor concentrates, sauces, gravies, and other flavor enhancing products. We sell primarily into foodservice – restaurants, hospitals, schools, and cafeterias – as well as industrial – food manufacturers, assemblers, and commissaries – and specialty retail – grocery store foodservice, convenience stores, and meal kits. Requirements

Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds throughout the shift and operate an electric pallet jack
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and the ability to communicate with individuals and small groups
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning
Willingness & ability to work overtime, as needed, throughout the week, up to and including Saturday work
Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift
Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals
Must be able to work onsite in Avon, OH location
Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Monitoring equipment performance
Performing quality checks
Documenting production data in Enterprise Resource Planning System
Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area
Collaborating with maintenance to minimize downtime
Follow all procedures to reduce Non-Conformance Report and customer complaints while ensuring that the weights are as specified
Participate in root cause analysis of customer complaints and Non-Conformance Report
Sets up equipment and operates it according to established standards
Operates programmable logic controls
Collaborates with maintenance to troubleshoot issues and reduce downtime
Enters production information into Enterprise Resource Planning in a timely manner
Verifies correct materials including packaging and labels are being used per procedure
Participates in Lean manufacturing projects, Kaizen events, other duties or tasks that may be assigned as required
Ensure health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment while ensuring compliance with all product safety and legal/quality requirements are met
