About The Position

Overview: Performs a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practice. Responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties and clinical activities of the APPs in a variety of settings to include but not limited to the outpatient clinic and inpatient setting.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with team members and patients.
  • Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to understand legal issues that influence the practice of the APPs.
  • Ability to lead a team maintaining professional demeanor.
  • Ability to build effective relationships within and outside PHC.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations and assist when only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Graduate from a nursing program with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Masters degree in Nursing, Required or Graduate of Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board. Required
  • ACLS Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
  • PA - Physician Assistant Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. Updated NCCPA certification for PAs. Upon Hire Required or ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, and WHNP) in the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year previous supervisory or lead surgical experience. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides leadership to a team of APPs.
  • Responsible for all Staffing decisions for APPs in designated area, including but not limited to the following: a. Schedules & Recruitment b. Annual reviews c. Performance/behavior management d. Compliance with annual training, flu shots, etc.
  • Supports the overall day-to-day administrative and clinical activities of the team, provides expert medical care under the direction of the supervising physician.
  • Maintains an effective operating environment in which assures effective, efficient and safe operations of the team that responds to patient, physician and staff needs.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians and APPs in order to promote cohesiveness.
  • Performs assigned shifts as an APP to support the team.
  • Manages up matters of significance to Administrator.
  • Maintains sufficient scheduling to support volumes and to manage crises events
