About The Position

APP Neurosurgery – Piedmont Atlanta Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Physician Assistant to join a very busy Neurosurgical practice on our Piedmont Atlanta campus. This position typically requires working two full clinic days, two surgery days and one administrative/pre-op day per week, in addition to call. In this role you will: · Occasional assist in the OR as coverage is needed. · Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail. · Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. · Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. · Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. · Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery. · Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3 day weekend in 6 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month

Requirements

  • Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of Neurosurgical or surgical experience with a high degree of clinical judgment
