About The Position

Primoris is seeking a Lead Specialist, Procurement to oversee the full procurement lifecycle on major projects. In this role, you will drive strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, subcontract management, and compliance to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a high-impact opportunity for a procurement professional ready to lead from project award through close-out while building strong vendor partnerships and shaping efficient supply chain strategies. Job Summary: The Lead Specialist Procurement will provide essential support to Project teams by managing administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating seamless operations for procurement activities. This role is critical in ensuring timely strategic sourcing, vendor setup, negotiations, bid analysis, purchase orders, subcontract management, and compliance with company policies and project requirements. Proficiency in supply chain management, vendor relationships, and negotiation will be key in maintaining project schedules, controlling costs, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Lead Specialist Procurement must be able to apply an understanding of the industry to provide guidance and support projects supply chain. As a lead for an assigned project, you will work to ensure all project procurement needs are fulfilled from project award to close-out.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the industrial construction or energy industry, with large-scale industrial construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and services used in the industrial construction industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Programs (Preference): Experience with ERP software programs like Vista/ Viewpoint and pVault.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to complete additional tasks as requested.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Contracts/Subcontracts formation and bid process would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Team Support: Collaborate with Project Team to establish strategic direction and objectives and to determine project-specific procurement and subcontract needs, specifications, and budget constraints.
  • Vendor Setup: Assist with supplier sourcing, qualification, evaluation and re-evaluation processes.
  • Price Solicitation and Evaluation: Facilitate the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process. Evaluate and recommend vendors based on technical capabilities, cost, and delivery schedule.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms and conditions, including scope of work, pricing, milestones, and deliverables in compliance with company policies.
  • Data Management: Performing data entry for purchase orders (POs), change orders, subcontracts, and related documents.
  • Record Keeping: Input and maintain accurate data and records in procurement logs, as needed, to ensure transparency and efficiency.
  • Procurement: Process purchase requisitions through purchase order (PO) and Subcontract (SL) execution in the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Viewpoint/ pvault).
  • Expediting - Ensure suppliers meeting contract schedule and delivery requirements.
  • Invoice Processing: Assist with invoice processing and the closeout of ongoing projects, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve any accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) discrepancies.
  • Other Duties: Some cross-functional activities with Subcontracts may be required to support project needs.
