About The Position

Primoris Industrial and Civil is looking for an experienced Field Engineer to help with a growing number of projects around the Mulberry, Florida area, with the potential for some travel. This field-based role offers an exciting opportunity to assist in planning and overseeing large-scale earthwork and site development projects, ensuring their successful execution from conception to completion. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Civil Engineering Technology is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a Field Engineer or Civil Engineer role within the construction, heavy civil, or civil engineering industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across field and office teams.
  • Solid working knowledge of spreadsheet tools, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Takeoff, or comparable civil design and takeoff software.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and comfort working with multiple digital tools and systems.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • MSHA experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support to project and construction management, ensuring all work is executed in full compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to troubleshoot issues and develop practical, field‑ready solutions.
  • Develop earthwork models using CAD software to support construction staking and machine control operations.
  • Perform detailed volumetric analysis of earthwork quantities to support schedule tracking, progress reporting, and accurate payment verification.
  • Assist with the preparation, coordination, and review of project submittals, including collecting required documentation from subcontractors and reviewing materials prior to submission to the owner or engineer.
  • Coordinate directly with owner and engineer representatives to support effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assign appropriate cost codes to field operations and track quantities to validate subcontractor and supplier invoices.
  • Track, document, and compile records related to materials, equipment, and labor to support change orders and field directives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
  • Support project management across all phases of the job, contributing wherever needed to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate with survey teams as required to support construction activities and layout needs.
  • Partner with the safety department to identify potential job hazards and help develop proactive plans to eliminate or mitigate risk.
