About the Team: The Facilities Maintenance team plays a vital role in supporting campus operations by managing equipment such as switchgear, lighting, and automated building systems. The team applies expertise in electrical diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable facility performance. Emphasizing safety, quality, and compliance, members collaborate using data-driven approaches to resolve issues and enhance processes. Their proactive maintenance strategies contribute to a well-maintained, functional, and sustainable environment, supporting the overall operational needs and long-term goals of the campus.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facility management, including maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and project management principles.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate maintenance staff and contractors effectively.
  • Skilled in conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies to support facility operations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and company policies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external partners.
  • Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • 1 year’s experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facilities meet quality and safety standards by identifying and addressing non-compliant conditions and practices.
  • Coordinate and support security measures to protect assets from damage or unauthorized access.
  • Oversee custodial staff and maintain facility grounds, equipment, and tools to ensure operational readiness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, including preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Manage relationships with landlords and third parties by auditing bills, negotiating agreements, and monitoring budgets.
  • Provide expert guidance on maintenance strategies, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster collaboration with stakeholders to implement business solutions and continuous improvements.
