Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive multi-site EHS experience in a large manufacturer or industrial business.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage resources to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to produce effective training materials and company communications.
  • Presentation: Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively influence the audience. Prior experience and comfort with presenting to management and non-management.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and help others achieve business goals.
  • Software/Office Tools: High proficiency in Excel (formulas & PivotTables), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Travel: Travel up to 40% at times - some international, primarily North America, and some short notice. Valid passport and driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications/Skills: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred or ability to quickly obtain. Lean and Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring processes and programs that drive year-over-year improvements in EHS.
  • Education/Training & Best Practices: Involved in the design, development, and delivery of training, policies/programs, best practices, project management, and leadership improvement skills.
  • Mentoring site/field EHS and Management Contacts: Mentor EHS team members and field leadership.
  • Audits: Conduct process audits - providing robust & sustainable recommendations. Identify process risks using observations, document reviews, and interviews.
  • Process/Program Knowledge: Expert knowledge of health, safety, ergonomics, best practices, and risk reduction (LOTO, machine safeguarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, and pedestrian risks). Familiarity with environmental reporting and environmental compliance.
  • Resource/Go-To Contact: Provide direction to EHS and OPS professionals and serve as an expert resource.
  • Training Development & Delivery: Develop and deliver training materials at all levels of the organization to drive change and build skills.
  • Risk Assessment: Use safety and ergonomic risk assessment tools to support sustainable risk reduction.
  • Problem Solving: Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), 8D, or similar problem-solving tools.
  • Policies & Regulations: Assist with developing and monitoring compliance with company policies and EHS regulations - keep abreast of regulatory changes.
  • Web Databases: Manage incoming data for accuracy and completeness and conduct deep data analyses. Provide user training and develop/manage training guides and materials.
  • Corporate Campus Safety Lead: Manage safety and emergency response program for corporate campuses (education, emergency responder recruitment and education, drills, and communications).
