A role in Store Design – Design Operations offers the opportunity to directly shape Target’s physical guest and team member experience by defining how digital, physical, and human systems connect in our stores. As the Lead Program Manager – Design Practice, you will lead the business strategy, standards, and operating model for Store Design’s digital practice across Target’s store portfolio. This role serves as the authoritative business interface between Store Design, Product/Technology and the rest of the enterprise as well as external partners - defining what the business needs and why, while partnering on how solutions are delivered. You will set the digital roadmap, govern standards and workflows, and own adoption outcomes across Architecture, Engineering, Store Planning, External AEC partners as well as how we interface with partners like Construction, Procurement, and Property Management. You will help enable Store Design to proactively shape its digital systems, improve productivity, and support enterprise-scale store development and maintenance programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Technology, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the AEC, design, retail, infrastructure, or related industries, with progressively increasing scope, ownership, and influence.
  • Proven experience owning digital strategy, standards, or operating models for large, complex design or delivery organizations.
  • Deep understanding of BIM-based systems and workflows, with experience governing standards, quality, data integrity, and scalability across large programs.
  • Experience defining and evolving digital standards, processes, and governance models vs just performing day-to-day tool execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Product, Technology, and business stakeholders to define requirements, guide prioritization, and enable scalable solutions.
  • Ability to develop a strategy and communicate ROI on applications of data / value of effort.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, enterprise-scale initiatives involving multiple internal disciplines and external partners.
  • Proven experience defining content, drawing, or data management standards and driving adoption across distributed teams and partners.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external partners often without direct authority.
  • Highly self-directed, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and accountable for outcomes in fast-paced, evolving environments.
