About The Position

THE ROLE The Entegris site in Bedford, MA is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Production Engineer to join our team. In this elevated role, you will serve as the technical leader for key manufacturing processes, driving process stability, product quality, and continuous improvement. You will provide strategic guidance to Production Engineers, partner cross functionally on complex issues, and lead major initiatives that impact safety, yield, throughput, and cost. You will also mentor junior engineers, lead equipment and process qualifications, interface directly with internal and external stakeholders, and act as a subject matter expert during audits, customer engagements, and escalations. WHAT YOU’LL DO Process Ownership & Technical Leadership Own end to end process performance for assigned manufacturing areas, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and yield targets are consistently achieved. Serve as the primary technical authority for process troubleshooting, capability analysis, and long-term performance improvement. Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical coaching to Production Engineers and cross-functional partners. Quality, Compliance & Audit Leadership Lead root-cause investigations for complex manufacturing excursions and customer-facing quality events; drive systematic and sustainable corrective actions. Oversee development and maintenance of FMEAs, Control Plans, SPC/SQC systems, and risk-based controls. Represent the manufacturing engineering function during ISO audits, customer audits, and management reviews. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects Lead high-impact CI initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies to reduce variation, increase throughput, and improve cost efficiency. Identify opportunities to enhance process robustness and implement next-generation manufacturing solutions. Lead the development and execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize parameters and scale new products and processes. Equipment, Capacity & Technology Enablement Lead major equipment installations, upgrades, and qualifications to support capacity expansion and new product introduction. Own change control activities for process, equipment, and materials changes; ensure appropriate risk assessments and validation. Evaluate and introduce advanced metrology, automation, and inline monitoring tools. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Customer Quality Engineering on complaints, escalations, and customer-driven improvement requests. Support Material Quality Engineering with raw material qualification and vendor-related NCRs. Guide Operations teams with training content, standard work, and performance monitoring tools. Communicate technical findings and improvement roadmaps clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams. DataDriven Manufacturing Leadership Develop and maintain key process indicators, statistical models, and data dashboards to ensure real-time visibility of process health. Drive adoption of fact-based decision making at all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence, guide, and mentor engineers and operations personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including statistical analysis and structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to executives, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in the semiconductor or precision materials industry.
  • Proven experience leading complex investigations, implementing process control systems, and improving stability and capability.
  • Expertise with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and other structured problem-solving tools.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring engineering talent.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom requirements.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and strong ownership of results.
