About The Position

The Portfolio Operations Leader drives superior global product performance through advanced P&L management, prioritization and execution of new product implementation into our factories, recommending and implementing FPP (80/20) behavior for the business unit, and serves as a liaison between General Management and our various internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, etc.). Despite being an individual contributor role, it requires proactive collaboration and persuasive influence across teams. The scope of this role includes the AMO, Asset Management, and Service Portfolio’s under the P&L owned by the GM.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of proven experience in portfolio management and product operations, leading complex product portfolios at scale.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Product Improvement, Lifecycle management, Daily Management and Process Improvement frameworks for integrated solutions.
  • Ability to manage complex investment decisions and resource trade-offs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a strong ability to present complex information to senior executives.
  • Product experience with cloud applications, “as a service” business models, and aftermarket services.
  • Ability to travel 25% internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the GM and global product leadership to translate business strategy into product planning, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Define and evolve product ops strategy, governance, and operating model to support growth, M&A, or major transformation initiatives.
  • Own global product decision-rights, prioritization frameworks, and roadmap governance across product lines. This ensures the alignment and cross functional partnership between Product, Engineering, and Commercialization through this role’s influence and drive.
  • Responsible for putting together regular financial and operations reviews for weekly management discussions to ensure teams are staying on track while partnering with the finance leader.
  • Maintains the pulse on trends and benchmarks essential in hitting top and bottom-line performance for the P&L.
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of major cross-functional initiatives and strategic product programs to ensure timely, on-scope delivery.
  • Run program governance (milestones, risks, dependencies, mitigations) and escalate issues to the GM with clear options and recommendations.
  • Coordinate quarterly/annual planning, release planning, and major launch programs.
  • Standardize and scale discovery, prioritization, scoping, and launch processes, including templates, playbooks, and playbooks for release readiness.
  • Drive Product Management onboarding, enablement, and continuous coaching to raise product management capability and consistency.
  • Establish and enforce quality and release gates to reduce regressions and rework.
  • Simplify and prioritize programs aligned to P&L investment expectations across the solution stack and within all regions.
  • Enable rapid decision-making and power teams to propose solutions and escalate risks.
  • Define, maintain, and report the product KPI framework and dashboards to be used by the GM and senior leadership to make investment and go/no-go decisions.
  • Partner with analytics/engineering to ensure reliable measurement, A/B testing pipelines, and post-launch outcome analysis.
  • Drive data-informed retrospective and re-prioritization processes.
  • Act as the operational liaison between product, engineering, design, revenue, marketing, customer success, and support to ensure GTM readiness and smooth launches.
  • Coordinate sales enablement, documentation, pricing, and customer communications for major releases in partnership with the commercialization leader.
  • Manage executive updates, product and portfolio reviews, and stakeholder communications on behalf of the GM when required.
  • Ensure release readiness includes security, regulatory, and operational controls appropriate to the business.
  • Define incident and problem-management processes; lead root-cause and remediation work for significant product incidents.
  • Deploy Vontier Business System (VBS) tools to enhance portfolio strategy execution.
  • Lead process improvements to reduce cycle time, increase predictability, and elevate product quality.
  • Embed a customer-centric, outcome-driven mindset across product and cross-functional partners.
