Overall Purpose: Design, develop, and manage activities for a specific business or consumer product/service or group of products/services throughout the entire lifecycle—from product definition and planning, through design, development, production, release, and end-of-life (EOL). Manage complex products and/or product lines for AT&T’s residential, SMB, enterprise, and global customers. Responsible for the business case, P&L, and ongoing performance of assigned products.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years in technical product management, software engineering, or solution architecture in telecommunications, technology, or a related industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in Agile product development, cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, and DevSecOps.
  • Proficiency with technical product management tools: Jira, Confluence, Figma, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security standards, data privacy, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with large-scale systems integration, technical vendor management, and third-party partnerships.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle for complex technical products and services, leveraging Agile/Scrum or SAFe methodologies. Oversee technical planning, execution, and delivery—ensuring seamless transitions from concept to development, production, launch, and EOL. Manage budgets, create technical estimates, and drive requests for funding through the capital process.
  • Product Definition, Design & Development: Research, design, plan, develop, and evaluate new products and features, translating customer and technical requirements into robust product designs. Develop technical specifications, architectural diagrams, system workflows, and API/interface documentation. Analyze customer needs and prioritize technical requirements for new products, services, and enhancements. Prepare and present technical requirements, project plans, and business cases, including feasibility and risk assessments.
  • Market & Technical Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market and technology research, including competitive analysis, addressable revenue potential, and customer segmentation. Define product functionality, assess volumes and revenue impact, and identify opportunities for technical differentiation.
  • Product Roadmaps & Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical product roadmaps, integration plans, service guides, and product documentation. Track and report technical KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics. Develop results reports/analysis and detailed project plans aligned with market and business objectives.
  • Cross-functional and Vendor Collaboration: Serve as the central technical resource—partnering with UX/UI, engineering, QA, process, manufacturing, test, quality, sales support, and marketing teams as products move to production and distribution. Collaborate with business, technology, and UX teams to design or modify products to meet market, budget, and schedule specifications. Work with the Global Connectivity Management, Technology Development, Contracting, Legal, Product Marketing, and Pricing Teams to develop pricing strategies and ensure compliance. Partner with third-party technology partners for new product development and negotiate with vendors to optimize product cost, feature functionality, and support.
  • Lifecycle Performance & Revenue Growth: Manage ongoing technical and business product performance, driving initiatives to grow revenue and margin. Monitor and optimize product reliability, scalability, and security.
