We are looking to hire a Preschool Lead Teacher for our Pasadena location who works with children ages 3–6 years old and is excited about building a new model of child care that responds to families’ varying needs, while also delivering the highest quality experiences for children. As a Lead Teacher You Will: Provide a safe and loving environment for children aged 3 years to 6 years of age in our classrooms in partnership with the class’s Co-Lead Teacher and Teachers. Co-plan curriculum in partnership with your Co-Lead Teacher, with a clear division of curriculum ownership (e.g., by age group) that may evolve based on classroom needs, while maintaining alignment and a cohesive classroom experience Partner daily with your Co-Lead to align on classroom procedures, transitions, and flow of the day, ensuring strong classroom management and consistent execution Execute and adapt Brella curriculum in the classroom, making real-time modifications based on age group needs and emergent interests to achieve strong engagement and quality outcomes Actively participate in workshops, training, and Lead Teacher meetings, relaying administration updates and information constructively and effectively to co-teachers Manage classroom documentation boards and materials (ie - ordering, storing, and labeling materials) to ensure the maintenance of a well-organized, developmentally appropriate classroom Act as point person for written and verbal family communication providing curriculum and development updates as well as child support plans Mentor, train, and grow teachers, modeling the Brella Basics and supporting the teacher evaluation process Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture Model and mentor providing a safety in the classroom following all Title 22 requirements, and Brella procedures, policies and guidelines

Requirements

  • 12 ECE credits and at least 1-2 years of experience working as a Lead in a licensed child care facility (Required for External)
  • Must meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services / Licensing
  • The ability to display a patient and calm demeanor coupled with a loving approach to every child
  • Experience operating in collaborative or shared leadership environments, working together to drive classroom initiatives and outcomes
  • Ability to navigate day-to-day challenges through clear communication, collaborative problem-solving, and sound judgment
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, particularly in coordinating curriculum across multiple age groups
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to take direction from staff to support our rooms as needed
  • Knowledge in early learning/development and group care settings, including knowledge of current research, regulations, and best practices
  • Comfort using technology
  • Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, walk, bend and otherwise fully participate in activities.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to physically handle children between 0-5 years of age using appropriate techniques.
  • Ability to lift children up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
  • Follow state, federal and Brellas' guidelines regarding immunizations, employment physical, and required health and safety training and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Reggio, RIE and Montessori methodologies (Preferred)
