This Lead Outbound Product Manager role contributes to product strategy, implements architectural roadmaps balancing design with regulatory and customer needs, and focuses on enhancing customer experience through metrics monitoring. Responsibilities include managing analytics and competitive analysis workstreams, overseeing product profitability, participating in operational reviews, and collaborating with various cross-functional teams. This is an individual contributor role within the Growth function for Large Enterprise (LE), focusing on driving adoption of proprietary checkout solutions like PayPal Checkout, Pay with Venmo, and Fastlane through strategic 1:1 engagement with merchants. The role acts as a domain expert, advising sales and solution engineers, synthesizing new product requirements, and identifying enhancement opportunities. It involves direct client engagement, collaboration with numerous internal teams globally, distilling complex concepts for organizational training, and evangelizing PayPal's solutions as a thought leader.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in consumer payments or eCommerce, particularly with checkout optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in business-to-business pre-sales, solution consulting, business development or account management.
  • Proven track record in identifying, developing, and contracting partner relationships within an enterprise context.
  • Hands-on experience working with the processing and payout needs of enterprise merchants or marketplaces.
  • Demonstrated success building teams and effectively leading cross-functional organizations.
  • Adaptable and eloquent communicator with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels, including product teams, engineering teams, and clients.
  • Experience with B2B and product software tools, including but not limited to PowerPoint, Salesforce, Jira, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Inputs to product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision for the product or enabling platform.
  • Implements the architectural roadmap that balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
  • Controls for the customer experience and customer needs in product requirements and as an input to decision making.
  • Monitors metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
  • Manages one or more workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.
  • Participates in operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews.
  • Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.
  • Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers.
  • Define playbook and advocate for demand with product on client needs.
  • Align on key deals that are priorities for critical verticals.
  • Bring strategic initiatives that are relevant to the Sales Team.
  • Execute on support related to client engagement/outreach for the key client cohorts.
  • Take ownership of ensuring successful sales and account expansion for branded checkout deals on a large scale.
  • Serve as a branded payments expert for new strategic initiatives, including areas such as UX optimization, presentment, conversion rate, and innovative eCommerce solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence the product roadmap of our broader Checkout team.
  • Work closely with commercialization teams to consult on and influence the sales positioning of products.
  • Take an active role in developing partnerships to address the needs of in the market.
  • Navigate complex large enterprise client requirements, experiences and nuances related to checkout.
  • Position PayPal as a thought leader in enabling global innovation for large enterprises and marketplaces.
  • Contribute to the improvement and "hardening" of systems employed by the broader organization.
