Lead Orthopaedic Surgery APP Opportunity Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner MedStar Washington Hospital Center - Washington, D.C. MedStar Medical Group invites an experienced Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Orthopaedic Surgery team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, one of the most respected referral centers for complex orthopaedic cases in the region. As a member of our inpatient ortho team, you'll work alongside fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons, six experienced APPs, and nine attending physicians in a collaborative environment that values clinical excellence and professional growth. You'll manage a diverse and complex patient population in the heart of the nation's capital-and be part of a health system that values your leadership and expertise. Your Role: Provide inpatient clinical care for post-operative orthopaedic surgery patients Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams and support resident learners Participate in daily patient management, care coordination, and discharge planning Lead and coordinate daily operations of the APP team, including scheduling, mentoring, and performance management Develop clinical protocols, support quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards Serve as a liaison between department leadership, staff, and attending physicians to promote a high standard of patient care Maintain an active clinical practice while fostering education and professional development among APP colleagues Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week (no nights, weekends, or holidays at this time-subject to change)
