About The Position

As a Lead Engineer at JLL, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of critical building systems within a dynamic facility environment. Working alongside the Chief Engineer, you will jointly supervise the engineering department staff, manage preventative maintenance programs, and oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of facility equipment. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the physical plant, including utility services, HVAC, plumbing, and electronic systems, while coordinating activities to ensure the safety and health of all building occupants. Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities engineering, building maintenance, or a related technical field with demonstrated supervisory or leadership responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair
  • Familiarity with building life safety systems, including fire alarm panels, sprinkler systems, emergency response equipment, and related components
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as MCIM, Corrigo, or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations, fire prevention protocols, and OSHA compliance requirements
  • Ability to schedule, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities, emergency repairs, and facility projects effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure in emergency situations

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications or licenses in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related building systems
  • Experience working in commercial real estate, corporate facilities, or institutional environments
  • Familiarity with Wells Fargo facility operations, standards, or corporate real estate requirements
  • Background in implementing and managing quality assurance programs for maintenance operations
  • Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with client requirements and safety standards
  • Knowledge of long-range capital planning, equipment lifecycle management, and budgeting for facility improvements

Responsibilities

  • Supervise engineering department staff and delegate responsibilities for preventative maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and facility upkeep
  • Schedule and prioritize emergency repair activities based on urgency and the technical capabilities of assigned personnel
  • Provide technical advice, encouragement, and hands-on instruction to team members in areas such as mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and safety procedures
  • Perform comprehensive equipment inspections to assess condition, verify proper maintenance practices, and ensure compliance with established standards
  • Coordinate facility projects as requested by customers, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication
  • Utilize building CMMS systems (MCIM, Corrigo, etc.) to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and asset performance
  • Oversee the location and function of building life safety systems, including control panels, smoke/duct detectors, sprinkler systems, pull stations, strobe lights, horns, and fire doors
  • Lead safety training initiatives and ensure all staff complete required safety indoctrination and continuing education programs
  • Manage site operations and permits, including facility permits, work permits, hot work permits, roof access permits, and related documentation
