The Lead Material Handler oversees daily material handling activities and provides on-floor coordination for the team. This role ensures safe, accurate, and timely movement of materials, supports task prioritization and training, and helps maintain inventory accuracy and standard work. While not a people manager, the role is key to driving efficient and consistent material flow.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years related experience in a warehouse environment
  • Proven experience in material handling and inventory control
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in using material handling equipment – i.e. various kinds of forklifts
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in material handling
  • Knowledge of computer skills required to send and receive emails, use ADP/HRMS, and other systems to communicate with supervisors or any others within Stratasys
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education or certification in logistics or material management
  • Forklift certified preferred

Responsibilities

  • Move materials from receiving or inspection areas to bulk storage, forward pick, or production line locations
  • Replenish line-side and pick locations based on production demand and system signals
  • Execute accurate ERP/WMS transactions for material moves, replenishments, and adjustments
  • Identify material shortages, discrepancies, or damaged inventory and escalate appropriately
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory activities, including research and reconciliation
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and priorities for material handlers in alignment with production and shipping needs
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for production, warehouse, and planning teams during assigned shifts
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Control and maintain accurate material storage locations, labeling, and inter-building material transfers
  • Maintain organized, clean, and clearly labeled work areas in accordance with 5S standards
  • Lead by example in following all safety policies, procedures, and required training
  • Reinforce adherence to standard operating procedures, safety rules, and quality expectations
  • Support onboarding and training of team members on standard work, safety, and system transactions
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement related to material flow, layout, inventory accuracy, and labor efficiency
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory discrepancies or operational issues while modeling Stratasys behaviors
