Job Summary: The Lead Material Handler/Shipper coordinates the material handling and shipping operations within the warehouse or distribution center. This role involves coordinating the distribution of materials and directing a team of material handlers and shippers. The Lead Material Handler/Shipper will work closely with various departments to ensure efficient and effective material flow, support production schedules, and meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Material Handling and Shipping Operations: Ensure materials are handled safely and stored properly to prevent damage or loss. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed. Prepare, package, and ship orders to customers, ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and on time. Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries. Verify shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness. Team Leadership: Lead a team of material handlers and shippers, providing guidance and training as needed. Assign tasks and monitor the performance of the team to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Champion a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and address any issues. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and shipments. Prepare and submit regular reports on material handling and shipping activities. Assist in the preparation of reports for management review.
