LOCATION: DeForest, WI SHIFT: 1st (7am-3pm) SUMMARY: Provide leadership in the Warehouse department and serve as a positive role model to material handlers in all aspects of the warehouse, shipping and receiving process – safety, productivity, efficiency, etc. This position reports to the Shipping & Receiving Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree (A. A./B.S.) or relevant work history or equivalent from two-year college/four-year college or technical school; with one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • This position may require manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs – reference your department-specific JHA (job hazard analysis) for departmental lifting restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate on the job training and instruction for team members on the correct use of tools and equipment to ensure proper safety and operating procedures are followed.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities.
  • Ensure the accuracy of shipments and inventory.
  • Monitoring work performance of direct reports.
  • Liaison with supply chain and carriers / customers.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure production is supplied.
  • Train new employees who start with the company.
  • Conduct inventory counts to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Daily walk throughs of the warehouses, inspection of the warehouse ground.
  • Evaluate and report on warehouse productivity.
  • Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Ensure FIFO of inventory is being conducted and administered.
  • Other duties as assigned.
