About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure our community remains safe, functional, and well maintained. This role is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance while also helping coordinate preventative maintenance efforts, responding to resident service requests, and ensuring apartments are move-in ready. The ideal candidate for the Lead Maintenance Technician role brings strong technical knowledge across building systems, a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, and the leadership skills needed to help keep operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • HVAC certification required.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and move throughout the property for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using maintenance management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations and support the overall upkeep of the property.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and building structures.
  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety procedures, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to reduce future repairs and extend equipment life.
  • Assist with unit turns, ensuring apartments are cleaned, repaired, and move-in ready on schedule.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation using maintenance management systems when applicable.
