Position Overview The Lead Low-Voltage Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of structured cabling, custom-integrated audio/video systems, lighting controls, motorized shading, security systems, and home automation technologies. This role combines technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards of quality. The Lead Technician works closely with project managers/coordniators, clients, and other trades to deliver exceptional results in the field.

  • Lead the installation of low-voltage systems, from rough-in, through trim, into final installation.
  • Ensure all phases of work meet design specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for project progress, technical issues, and quality assurance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to Field Technicians to ensure team success.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during the installation and testing phases.
  • Cooperate with the Project Manager/Coordinator and other stakeholders to plan work schedules, material delivery, and project milestones.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and requirements to the Project Manager/Coordinator.
  • Assist with equipment programming, testing, and commissioning to ensure full system functionality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installation work, wiring diagrams, and system configurations.
  • Submit daily field reports, including job progress, equipment needs, and team performance.
  • Identify and document change order requests as required.
  • Serve as a professional and knowledgeable point of contact for clients/stakeholders on-site.
  • Address client concerns and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high- or low-voltage system installation, including structured cabling, audio/video, security, lighting, and home automation.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience supervising field teams and coordinating on-site work.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices for residential and light commercial installations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with basic apps/software, test equipment, and hand/power tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and other trades.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Oregon (LE-A) and/or Washington (O-6), and the motivation/ability to procure reciprocal licensing as needed.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working on construction sites, in tight spaces, and on elevated surfaces.
  • Applicants must have clean current Driver's License and be insurable, as the need to commute to jobsites in a company-owned vehicle is required.
  • Applicants must have their Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license, a solid understanding of electrical principles and codes, and strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
  • Experience in/understanding of frame carpentry and overall residential mechnical rough-in is a plus.
