Position Summary The Low Voltage Technician position is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks in a team or individual capacity for industrial and commercial clients.

Requirements

  • NICET Certification
  • Adequate knowledge of cabling infrastructures
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present
  • Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected

Responsibilities

  • NICET Certification (Required)
  • Cabling installation
  • Equipment rack installation
  • Jack and connector installation
  • Cable types will include, but are not limited to: CAT3, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, COAX, speaker and control wire
  • Testing with various pieces of test equipment
  • Installs fiber and copper cable in ceiling, conduits and raised floors; routes cable within walls and modular furniture; terminates both fiber & copper cabling
  • Terminates and dresses communications closets following standard BICSI termination processes
  • Tests cable and ensure accuracy of cable testing, documentation of tests
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of cabling standards
  • Lighting control system installation
  • Mechanical control systems installation
  • BAS system installation
  • Performs testing, troubleshooting
  • Adequate knowledge of cabling infrastructures
  • Reads and interprets floor plans
  • Other duties as assigned
